About Us

Currently All Volunteer: 3 Board of Directors, 9 Officers, 25 Firefighters & 5 Juniors. Firefighters are 18yrs and older, juniors are 13-17yrs old.

Communications

Dispatched by Gasconade County Central E911 located in Owensville on a frequency that is Licensed by Bland Fire.

A repeater owned and maintained by Bland Fire is located at the top of the water tower located in Bland. Firefighters and Officers are equipped with 2-way radio for notification and communications with each other and dispatch.

Meetings & Training

Meetings:

Board of Directors meeting are held and open to the public at station #1 located at 202 N Sycamore in Bland, "Under the water tower" on the 2nd Monday of every month.

Bland Fire Association meetings are held and open to the public at Station #1 located at 202 N Sycamore in Bland "under the water tower" on the 1st Tuesday of every month.

District Training's are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month: To stay current on our skills and at the ready.

District Work Night is held the 3rd Tuesday of every month: To ensure trucks & equipment are in working order. 

 

Stations and Apparatus:

2 stations:

Station #1 located at 202 N Sycamore Ave in Bland

Station #2 located at 4604 Gorrell RD in Redbird

Apparatus:

10 pieces of Apparatus capable of providing, Fire Suppression, Rescue, Water supply, Air supply, and Utility Fire service. All carry a variety of firefighting and rescue tools.

Rates & Services

The Bland Fire Protection District is "non profit" and is supported only by a property tax acquired from persons whom live within the District. Annual income $26,000 per year.

A Firefighters Association was formed to assist with financial issues for equipment, clothing, beverages, etc. and holds fund raisers throughout the year in support of the District.

Services are provided on an  "as needed" basis and by request of taxpayers. Many mutual aid agreements have been established to provide and receive assistance from surrounding departments.

Our services include but are not limited to, E.M.S (emergency medical calls), vehicle accidents, rescue, (from vehicles, homes, confined spaces, high angle etc.) Fire suppression (vehicles, structures, natural cover, etc.) hazardous conditions (water endangering electrical, wires down, gas leaks "inside & out", swift/still water, search on land.

In the News

Our department has recently purchased a Thermal Imaging Camera to assist in more efficient determinations of, speedy rescue of victims in dark or Smokey areas, locating heat sources or fire located behind walls, ceilings, or equipment, Checking temperature readings of objects from a safe distance etc. With our mutual aid agreements with surrounding Police, Fire, & EMS agencies it has already proved very valuable in the saving of life and property for this area.
