Addressing

Gasconade County E-911 is the addressing authority for Gasconade County.  City addresses are assigned by that city’s postal service, however all county addresses are assigned by us.  City addresses are usually 3 digits and county addresses are 4 digits.

Gasconade County E-911 is completing a house point project.  This project allows the dispatcher to see on an aerial map the exact location on the caller or the incident.  By seeing the locations of the residence, the dispatcher can give detailed directions as well as see water sources for the fire departments.  This project enabled Gasconade County E-911 to make new, detailed map books, with every house point for responders.  The new map books will be available for purchase by civilians soon.

If you have any questions or are needing an address, contact Stephanie at 573-437-2384 or by email: addressing@gasconadecounty911.com.

Location

  • Always post your address on your house or business near the front door or under a light
  • In rural areas or where your house is not visible from the street, post your address where your driveway meets the road- on a post, fence, wall or on both sides of the mailbox.
  • Make sure there are no trees or bushes blocking the address.

Visibility

  • House numbers should always be at least 3-4 inches high.
  • Numbers should be made of a color that sharply contracts to the background they are posted on.
  • Reflective materials are recommended.
  • Always keep snow, leaves, etc. cleared away from house numbers and keep them in good repair.

Additional Factors

  • Always remove old names and numbers from your mailbox to avoid confusion.
  • Keep your address and complete driving directions next to each telephone for easy reference, especially for visitors, children or elderly persons who may need to call 911.
  • Posting your address correctly will help prevent a delayed response by emergency vehicles and responders. It could save the lives of you and your family.
  • Remember..............Emergency Responders rely on you to make your house or business address easy to read when they are traveling down the road at a high rate of speed.
  • If your road name sign is damaged, down or missing- please call Gasconade County E-911 at 573-437-7770 to report it. The road name sign in good condition is just as important as your address number when responders are trying to find you.
